Deborah Ann Erickson was born on June 10, 1952 in North Bend Oregon to Raymond L. and Florence “Tommie” Erickson. She was the beloved “Middle Sister” of the Erickson girls. She passed away May 6, 2014 after a brief illness.
Deborah lived in Gold Beach Oregon , St Paul Minnesota, Keizer and Salem, OR while growing up. She Graduated from SSHS in 1970. She attended St Olaf College, Minnesota, and the University of Oregon, where she finished her BA degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology. She went on to earn a Masters in Audiology from Penn State. Deborah worked as an audiologist at the VA in Portland for several years. She maintained her audiology license and credentials throughout her life.
She then furthered her education with an AA degree in Data Processing from PCC. She worked at PGE for 34 years an Analyst in IT Software Support, part of which was spent at the Trojan Nuclear Power Plant. She lived in the Lake Oswego and Tigard area for her adult life.
Deborah was a nature enthusiast who loved sailing, hiking, cycling, backpacking, reading, golf, photography and sports. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed for her enthusiasm for life, analytical mind, dry wit and sly sense of humor.
She was a member of Oregon Speech and Hearing Association, American Speech and Hearing Association, Lake Oswego ARES/CERT team (Ham radio) , and PGE ARES team .
She was predeceased by father Raymond L. Erickson and mother Florence H. Erickson. She is survived by sisters Raye Ann Gaskins, Salem OR, Stacey (William ) Lauretti, Victor, NY, nephew Christopher Gaskins Jensen, nieces Lindsay Lauretti and Kristin Gaskins.
Calling Hours will be Fri May 9 from 10am-1pm at Howell Edwards Doerksen Funeral Directors, Salem, OR
Private burial will be Fri May 9 at 3 pm at City View Cemetery, Salem, OR
Celebration of Life Service will be held Sat May 10, 10:30AM Lake Grove Presbyterian Church Lake Oswego, OR
